The November issue of “Plástico Industrial” is online. The highlight of the edition is the article “The plastics sector in the context of industry 4.0”, is highlighted on page 16, showing that digital transformation is reaching the plastics industry faster than you think, changing some routines and opening up more precise control possibilities that should result in more productive and leaner units. See on page 36 the article “Identifying molecular changes in aged plastics”, shows that the degree of aging of polymers is a factor that determines characteristics of molded products and defines their useful life. This feature can be evaluated non-destructively, including at the molecular level. Read on page 42, in the special chapter “O plástico na embalagem” (plastics application in the package industry), the news “Use of plastic packaging helps to reduce the final product price”, where the exchange of carton packs of a line of ready meals for plastic packaging of flow pack type (with longitudinal welding lines and in the extremities), contributed to reduction of about 20% of the costs of production.
