The February issue of “Plástico Industrial” is online. The special coverage “Recycling of complex materials, a challenge to be overcome with research”, on page 16, is the highlight of the edition, showing Brazilian companies that are recycling post-consumption composite packaging and returning the plastic contained in it to the chain in form of granules to be transformed into products again. See on page 34 the article “Foamed ABS in manufacturing of light weight components”, where the foam injection molding process was adapted to work with ABS, which allowed to obtain light weight components with high surface quality. Read on page 40 in the special chapter “O Plástico na Embalagem” (Plastics applications in the package industry), the news “Recycled PET reaches the wine bottles”, which shows that a British company developed a model of wine bottle, blow molded, with 100% post-consumer recycled PET (PCR), which innovates also by the unusual shape.
