The January issue of “FotoVolt” is online. The article “Protection against lightning and surges in PV generators”, on page 12, shows that, considering the high incidence of lightning strikes in Brazil and that the growing in PV systems is increasing, the protection against lightning and surges of tension is essential to safeguard the integrity of the PV components and the service continuity of service of the generating installations. See on page 16 the article “Analysis of the power factor in building with PV system”, addressing the influence of a PV system of 27 kWp on the power factor of the electrical grid network of a university building, since the increase of distributed generation may interfere on, concerns arise with respect to the quality of electric energy. For the analysis purposes, measurements were made under different scenarios, alternatively varying the load or the generation. Furthermore, on page 42, the article “Variable tilt angles of PV modules for efficient energy production”, describes that, in order to maximize power generation at a reduced operating cost, a method for the setting of the PV tilt angles was evaluated throughout the year. The study comprised the efficiency curves for different angles in order to set the best position of these equipment.
