The May/June issue of FotoVolt is online. The edition highlights the preview of “The Smarter E South America 2019” (São Paulo, August 27-29), on page 42, an event that brings together three industrial fairs, a special exhibition and two congresses, covering all essential areas of the new energy world value chain with an emphasis on photovoltaic (PV) solar energy and which includes and strengthens “Intersolar South America” in its 7^th edition. See on page 30 the article “Glued cells make photovoltaic energy greener", which shows the recent evolution of electroconductive adhesives made it possible to interconnect cells by bonding, allowing the modules also to comply with European RoHS directive, avoiding lead. Glue is also ideal for high-efficiency cell technologies that cannot undergo welding temperatures. Furthermore, on page 36, the article “Energy efficiency of photovoltaic storage systems - Part 1”, showing that, to allow the evaluation of the efficiency of PV storage in homes, selected systems were compared with an ideal system for six days. The real economy was correlated with the theoretical potential of economics. Simultaneously, the test compared the total efficiency of a DC coupled storage system with that of an AC coupled system. This issue brings also the new “Sun trackers” and the updated “PV mounting structures” buyers’ guides.
