The November issue of “Eletricidade Moderna” is online. The article “LPS: The dynamic electrogeometric model”, on page 22, shows that in the design of protection against atmospheric discharges by the rolling ball method, the points of impact of the rays are determined, where captors must be installed, but it is not possible to indicate the probability of impact at these points. The dynamic electromagnetic model allows such an indication, using a numerical approach (Ansatz) to vary the radius of the rolling ball. See on page 36 the news “The actors in the electricity sector discuss the new legal framework”, about Energy and Scenarios 2017 meeting, of Viex-Americas, which brought together specialists from EPE, Aneel and CCEE for a debate whose main aspects are reported. Read on page 44 the article “Technical standards for residual current devices (RCD)”, which analyzes and seeks to clarify the apparent divergences in the specification of the actuation times of the residual-current protection devices, in the light of the international IEC and German DIN VDE standards, in addition to offer comparisons with Brazilian standards.
