The September issue of “Eletricidade Moderna” is online. The article “Fire hazards in LV switchgears”, on page 22, points out the typical causes of fires originated in the distribution boards of building installations and which aspects deserve particular attention. See on page 38 the report “The challenge of modernizing the Brazilian electricity sector”, reporting on the initiatives of the government and entities and the experts’ view on the subject. Consensual issues, such as subsidies, pricing, fair allocation of rights and duties, and ensuring expansion to support the country's development, come up with different views of how, where and when to change. Furthermore, on page 52, the article “Dimensioning of devices with differential-residual current (DR)”, examining the issue of overload and short circuit protections in the light of the tests provided for in the standards, and the data that the manufacturer must provide.
