The June issue of “Eletricidade Moderna” is online. The article “Capillary crystals in LV installations - An unrecognized problem”, on page 18, deals with the phenomenon of the capillary crystals (whiskers), generally ignored as the cause of the electric arcs. Arc foulings are recurring events, with human and property losses, sometimes of great magnitude. See on page 26 the article “Copper-bimetallic conductors and the equivalence with copper conductors”, which presents the technology and engineering of copper-clad steel conductors, whose production process, by atomic-scale welding, makes it difficult to separate copper and steel and makes commercialization unfeasible, replacing that of copper that is heavily targeted for theft in grounding loops. Furthermore, on page 46, the article “Online monitoring of grounding in mobile electrical machines”, features the technology of a set of devices that promote online monitoring of the ground integrity of these machines, ensuring safety of people and facilities.
